Asthma…What Does It Have To Do With Chiropractic?

According to the Centers for Disease Control, asthma affects 1 in 13 people and is the leading chronic disease in children.

What Causes Asthma?

While genes can play a role and you could have a genetic mutation that may make you more susceptible to asthma, your lifestyle choices and your brain’s ability to adapt to stress play a big part in the development of asthma.

It comes down to how well your nervous system is functioning. Excess stress on your nervous system makes you more susceptible to illness and disease.

Where Does Chiropractic Come In?

Chiropractors , through chiropractic adjustments, help your brain and nervous system adapt better to stress allowing all parts of your body, including your lungs, to function better.

In a study that was published in a Holland Medical Journal, out of a group of 115 families with asthmatic children, 73% had utilized chiropractic care for the asthma and 92% of the families reported that chiropractic was beneficial for their children.

We have seen numerous asthmatic patients improve significantly as the result of care in our office.
